After interviewing the owner, Thomas Smit, Varun settles into the amazing Tower Suite.  On the ground floor, it’s a living room, level one offers the bathroom and the ‘penthouse’ is the bedroom which boasts 360 degree views of Prague.

Back on ground level, Varun receives a guided tour of the city in a vintage car.

He then heads back to The Augustine and visits the working monastery – St Augustine Chapel – next door.  The Abbott gives Varun a guided tour of the church and shows him the library which contains rare and ancient books.  He allows Varun to handle some of the books which is an honour indeed.

Varun then drives out to Kutna Hura – home to the St Barbara Cathedral – one of the greatest manmade structures on earth.

Back at The Augustine, Varun heads into the kitchens to learn how to make a local boar dish – washed down with a local wine of course!

Staying with alcohol, Varun is driven to the U Fleku – the oldest brewery in Prague.  Here he leads about the beer-making process before downing a litre in record time – yes, really!

The Czech Museum of Music is Varun’s next stop where he looks at the instruments that have made Czech musicians and composers so famous.

In the evening, he finally heads to the Folklore Gardens where he dances with pretty young maidens and drinks more beer.

What an episode!
