Varun takes us to The Peloponnese for a show that is filled with history and culture.
First he lands by helicopter in Porto Heli after a 25-minute flight from Athens – and he heads to the Amanzo’e resort – one of the most luxurious properties in Europe.
After interviewing the General Manager, Henry Gray, Varun is whisked away to view the four-bedroom villa which has been allocated to him – 8,000 square metres of heaven – complete with private pool and gym.
In a nearby fishing village, varun meets George Callianos – the resort’s Dive-Master – to discuss the diving available in the wonderful clear waters in the area – before taking to the waters for a dive in the Mediterranean.
Back on dry land, Varun visits the ancient tows of Epidavros and Mycenea. The highlight is the famous Lion’s Gate.
Back at the resort, Executive Chef, Demetrius, shows Varun how to cook a tasty and healthy Greek shrimp and caper dish in the private kitchen.
After that, he heads out on the water once more for a private boat cruise to the islands of Spetses and Hydra.
Varun’s companion, Katarina, gives him a detailed account of the islands, their heritage and what they are famous for today.
Finally, the hotel’s Lazeroz Nikoletos teaches Varun about the history and production of olive oil in the region before he heads down to The Beach Club for a memorable sunset and wine and chilli pepper cocktail.
